Cycligent is proud to announce Carey Conabeare who will be competing at CVR World Cup Paris.
Carey is 42 years old, and has been cycling for most of her life, to and from work, as well as for leisure.
Eight years ago, she bought her first road bike.
She was a late bloomer when it came to competitive cycling, and actually managed to pass her 41st birthday before ever taking part in a cycle race. She’s ridden in a few sportives, but never joined a cycle club, which means that cycling has been a mostly solitary sport for her.
In 2016, she started racing with Zwift, and ultimately joined the Bolt Race Team. Since then she said he’s become a much stronger and experienced rider,
To date, Carey has raced in over 80 races, mainly ladies-only (ODivaZ, Kiss, XRS).
When she won the race, which gave her the chance to compete in the CVR World Cup in London, it was the icing on the cake, but a bit nerve-wracking. The CVR World Cup London race was such a fantastic opportunity to meet and race against other riders she’d met in Zwift, but in a face-to-face, real-world competition. It was a great experience for her and she came in 4th place.
Carey feels that Zwift is not only great for cycling, but also for providing a great way to meet people from all over the world. She’s had a lot of fun discovering her competitive side and she’s really relished the challenges that Zwift racing has given her.
She’s also very excited to be competing in the CVR World Cup and meeting all the riders. Outside of cycling, Carey is a professional gardener living in Oxfordshire, England.
