Cycligent is proud to announce Dixie Newsome who will be competing at CVR World Cup Paris.

Dixie is 28 years old and has been cycling for 4 years.

In high school, Dixie began running track and cross country.

At Old Dominion University, she started to sail as well as run.

In 2013, after college, she began road cycling, as well as competed in her first triathlon. She raced in a few triathlons and finished the Ironman in North Carolina.

In 2014, her husband began racing, and introduced her to criteriums.

In 2016, she started road racing. It became her passion. Her first race was a cold, hilly race, in Williamsburg, VA. This race got her hooked on road racing.

Over the past two years, she has traveled the eastern coast of the United States to road race.

Dixie has already had 14 podium finishes in only her first two years of road racing. 7 of them were 1st place finishes in 2017.

Her most recent win was the Best All Around Rider competition for her local cycling association.

Dixie’s current team is the Mermaid Winery.

She also commutes to work as much as possible on her single speed bike. For leisure, she likes to ride in the country with her husband or sprint through the city streets.

Dixie is determined to push any self-imposed limits and go on to victory in everything she does.

Outside of cycling, Dixie lives with her husband Brandon, in the US state of Virginia.
